The last painting is the death of the sun, symbolised by a stiff bell, on which the themes of all three preceeding paintings are repeated: sun palace, globe, bridge. Three kings sit under the bell, their heads with crowns bowed. They are seated on rock thrones. Between the kings and the bell, a spider's web is visible, with distant stars - other suns - in between. We can feel that there are other suns out there shining and so the Sonata of the Sun repeats again.
