From the mid-1960s, live broadcasts were the domain in which censorship intervention was most able to be attenuated. Milan Weiner brought this “discipline” to perfection in the spring of 1968. He commissioned the Songs with the Telephone program, during which the editors called famous personalities (including politicians) and asked them about current social problems. The broadcasts were mostly prepared by three representatives of various editorial teams. In addition to Věra Šťovíčková, Jiří Dienstbier and Sláva Volný (in the picture), Jeroným Janíček, Jindra Klímová and Karel Kyncl also took turns at the microphone and the telephone.
