Sonneadler

The sculpture Sonneadler was created in 2024 by the artist Fred Friedrich. It is another element of the “Gesamtkunstwerk” (total artwork) and is part of the Opus Opera Collection. The Fred Friedrich Museum displays all these works in Marbella.

The monumental sculpture Sonneadler (Solar Eagle), by artist Fred Friedrich, is an extreme manifestation of myth, material, and metaphor. Inspired by the Sumerian legend of Etana, the first king of Kish after the flood, the work reinterprets one of humanity’s foundational stories: the flight toward the divine in search of offspring, power, and purpose.
