Soprano Saxophone

This straight, one-piece soprano saxophone in B-flat by Adolphe Sax is very lightweight due to its very thin brass construction. It has a fingered range from low B-natural to high E-flat.  This particular saxophone was purchased in 1923 by the saxophonist and collector, Dr. Hewitt A. Waggener (Los Angeles), who had it restored in 1924 by the Buescher Band Instrument Company of Elkhart, Indiana.   It was later completely restored to playing condition, repadded, recorked, and the toneholes resoldered by the Leblanc Corp. of Kenosha, WIsconsin about 1975.
