Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz was a writer from Nueva España (México) during the seventeenth century, her literary work is part of the so called “Siglos de Oro Español”. Cortes's lineography is based on the best-known portray of Sor Juana, an 18th century painting of Miguel Cabrera. Cortes's lineography focuses on the figure of Sor Juana.
Erasto Cortés was an artist well known because of his work as engraver. He was a main figure in arts the first half of 20th century in Mexico. Part of his work revolves around Mexican historic figures.
