This artwork belongs to the series of critical assemblages by Lubo Kristek. The pearl rose rising from the labyrinth of traps is a symbol of a luxury pitfall. The one who only focuses on the rose doesn’t see the whole picture – the entire complex is a huge trap that will snap shut. Another level of meaning forms the framing, which is upholstered like a door in a psychiatric solitary room. Not a single sound can escape from the soundproofed space.
