Hailed as the creator of several of the best soundtracks in gaming history, Yasunori Mitsuda nearly quit his position at Square without composing a single note, after being regulated only to sound effect projects. He since composed dozens of soundtracks, most famously Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross, inspired by traditional Celtic, Japanese, and classical music. Today, his music is widely performed by orchestras and remixed by fans.
