'Source of Inspiration' is a ballet by Sol León and Paul Lightfoot, dedicated to choreographer and former artistic director of NDT, Hans van Manen.
León: “Because ‘Source of Inspiration’ was completely based on Van Manen, we indirectly transfer our admiration to the dancers. We explore our memories and give our feelings for Hans a physical form. This requires us to shine a different light on our movement language: how do you dance a memory?” Lightfoot: “It’s like talking about a friend and transferring that friendship to others.” León: “It’s important in life that you dare to say you love someone. It takes courage. Hans gave me that courage. Really, I love that man and I would be mad not to repeat it again and again."
