The scroll reads:"This part of Africa was unknown to the ancients because the description by Ptolomy does not go beyond the promontory of Prao which is today known as Mozambique. The said part of Africa was discovered by the Portoguese at the time of King John. The southernmost tip is called Cape of Good Hope, which tip scares sailors for its heavy and continuos storms."
