Fan’s Vuvuzela from the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
Blowing the Vuvuzela was a tradition at the all football matches before the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. It came to prominence during the tournament with fans, viewers, players and coaches complaining about the noise they emitted.
Whilst its true to say that in the hands of an experienced user the Vuvuzela is like any other instrument its also true that inexperienced users at the 2010 World Cup were simply unable to find any rhythm.
Part of the National Football Museum collection.
