A South African War Prisoner of war pipe. Inscribed: "P A Hafner Staff C G POW Tin Town". Tin Town was a Prisoner of war camp in Ladysmith, Natal during the South African War (1899-1902) and Pierre Hafner was a Boer Prisoner of War. After Tin Town, Hafner was transferred to the St Helena Prisoner of war camp where he was detained for the remainder of the South African War.
