Madrid, Spain

Spanish flag with the coat of arms of Francoist Spain (1939–77), presented to the corps in San Lorenzo de El Escorial on March 8, 1929, to commemorate its first centenary. The flag was a gift to the 14th Subinspectorate of the Border and Coast Guard Corps (Cuerpo de Carabineros) from the Chamber of Industry and Commerce of the Madrid Trade Association (Unión Mercantil). H.R.H. Princess Isabella of Bourbon presented it, acting as patron on behalf of His Majesty King Alfonso XIII. This flag has been modified, which is why it features a coat of arms from a later period.
