Spare Rib, the most prominent magazine of the Women’s Liberation Movement, was set up by Rosie Boycott and Marsha Rowe to explore alternatives to conventional roles for women. This first issue included articles on pensions and women’s history, but also featured skincare tips, a chicken casserole recipe and an interview with George Best.
