"My joy in quiltmaking is to make something lasting that reflects my inner person. My hopes are that my quilts bring the viewer a moment of reflection and feelings of peace and contentment, if only for a few minutes. I consider most of my quilts 'heirloom,' and hope they are around for generations for my family to enjoy on a bed or on a wall.

I find it enjoyable savoring and not rushing the design or handwork, taking the time to find a way to get each design from my mind and sketched on graph paper and then sewn into the fabrics. My quilts are definitely not quickly made, and I hope they reflect the love and patience it took to complete each one."
