It is a miniature dome like structure with an opening for a symbolic installation of making an offering. The circular walls of such domes are hand-modelled by coiling a beating , but the upper portion of the pinnacle is wheel-turned and attached to the dome . The dome is also embellished with hand modelled plant like forms on top." (pg 66) Terracotta Art of India by Dr Jyotindra Jain. It is known as Dhabu.It is finished with white wash only at the time of selling otherwise it is kept covered with redslip , open fired at low temperature and stocked at the potter's shop.
