Spring in the Ancient Capital Kyoto (No.2)

In No. 2, a bamboo forest in early spring is pictured. The vertically extending bamboo in contrast with the open horizontal water pipe creates a clever and pleasing composition. Lovely Japanese yellow roses are seen through gaps in the grove of brightly colored bamboo.
