A loop antenna is, in principle, a self-inductance which is a coil. Together with a capacity a tuned circuit is formed. Connection with a receiver makes radio reception possible. The power depends on the dimensions of the window, but is generally considerably smaller than that of a wire antenna. A loop antenna requires a sensitive receiver. Loop antennas were initially used by multiple high-frequency amplifiers. This antenna is used for experiments and therefore no longer in its original state.
Technical details: Mahogany foot with three varnished brass adjusting screws for horizontal installation. Three connecting terminal screws in connection with three brass concentric conductor rails in recessed portion of the wooden base. Rotatable window with a central axis. Pointed top, with conical bearing, carried out with nut on the underside of the base plate. Total 60wdg of red insulated copper wire with a width of about 45 mm, spaced by ebony rods. The sliding contacts for the three current rails in the upper part are no longer present. The contacts of the window, including branches, are terminal blocks.
