"St. Anthony's Church (Old)"

When Antônio Conselheiro arrived in the region of Canudos - an old abandoned cattle farm, served by several roads, on the banks of the Vaza-Barris river - he found a church built in honor of Santo Antônio. Restored by Conselheiro and his followers, it was called the Old Church. It was bombed several times during the conflicts, being almost completely destroyed. The photograph shows its state after the final conflict.
