"These paintings probably come from the Hermitage of Sant Salvador of Tarazona, in Zaragoza. The style and format certify that they used to form part of the predella of the same altarpiece, but what happened to the remaining pieces is unknown.
Both panels depict a saint. The figures sitting on Gothic-style thrones have been created with the pastiglia technique using gypsum and gold powder that reappears on the halos and other secondary details. The saints are wearing delicate tunics and capes with generous, tubular folds, especially abundant at the bottom.
The board shows Saint Catherine of Alexandria carried their characteristic attributes: sprockets and the palm of martyrdom and the beheading sword directed towards the face a royal character."
