St. Jude Thaddeus

An elderly St. Jude Thaddeus casts his gaze at the viewer while leaning on a halberd, an element that is traditionally identified with his martyrdom. Technical studies and analysis of the work allow it to be placed, together with to those of St. Andrew, St. Matthew, St. Philip and St. Simon, in an early stage of development.
