Despite the restoration campaign completed in 1990 by C. Tarozzi and S. Baroni, the depiction of the south-west plume with San Marco and San Gregorio is in a poor state of preservation. Gregory, intent on writing, inspired by the Holy Spirit who stands next to him in the likeness of a dove, accompanies here Saint Mark who, seated on the lion, his traditional symbol, looks at his companion.
