On 23 October 1956, the first day of the Hungarian Revolution, thousands of protesters gathered near Heroes' Square in Budapest, and toppled the 25-meter-tall Stalin Monument, erected as a "gift" to Stalin from the Hungarian people, on his seventieth birthday (21 December 1949). Once the crowd had finished, only Stalin's boots remained.

This item was used in OSA's 2008 reconstruction "The Trial".
