Stan McDonald

The Doyen of Bondi's Famous Beach Inspectors and a member of our club "Bondi Mac" gave 47 years service from 1912 to Bondi Beach. The late Stan MacDonald was the first Bondi Beach Inspector. He was the well loved father-confessor and adviser first to Tom Meagher, then Aub Laidlaw, Brian Davidson, Kevin Burgess and a dozen other inspectors who followed him at Bondi.
In 1942-43 Stan initiated a swimming relay between the two surf clubs, in an attempt to enhance camaraderie between North and South. The teams consisted of 20 swimmers a side and still continues today in the same way.,
