This single-action pistol was first distributed in 1976, with a 9 mm (0.35") Parabellum caliber, replacing its predecessors: Model A and Super Star. Despite being too short for the specialist units within the corps, who were issued different weapons, it was the most widely distributed pistol in the Civil Guard until around 2010. At that point, it began to be replaced by the Beretta 92, which also replaced the Fire Star pistol issued to officers.
