Stars is a 'blackout poem' created by drawing over a page of pre-existing text in a book, highlighting single words while blocking out others to create a new poem. The poem reads:
"The skies have magic,
The wild starlit night begun to change"

Kika created this poem in response to a BALTIC Foundation Club workshop led by artist Zoe Allen.

This piece was made at BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art as part of Arts Council England's The Way I See It project which captures the impact of the Coronavirus pandemic on the lives of children and young people, articulated in their own voices, through their own creativity.

BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art, Gateshead creates and produce exhibitions, events and learning opportunities that explore the role of art and artists, and the world around us.
