Reverse: Taras astride a dolphin facing left, holding a distaff in his right hand and a kantharos in outstretched left hand. Behind him, to right, a rooster. Inscribed below the dolphin: TΑΡΑΣ [TARAS]. Taras is both the name of the city that minted this coin and of a legendary figure who was saved from drowning by a dolphin sent by his father, the god Poseidon.
