Between departures and arrivals, it was possible to wait on one of the numerous benches, observing the time passing by on the clocks in the waiting rooms or on the platform. Working together, this is a column clock, also called the regulator or mother clock, which was located inside the station and which served as a mechanical support that controlled the wall clock, connected to it through a transmission rod and visible on the platform, so allowing waiting passengers and platform staff to easily see the time. It was the responsibility of the station master to mechanically wind the clock.
