Stationery cabinet

This portable stationery cabinet belonged to Mary Ann Evans (George Eliot). She would have used it to store her letter writing materials. Like many middle class Victorians, Evans was a prolific letter writer. Some of her surviving letters are now part of the local studies collection in Coventry Archives.
