The filmic panorama projection "trans_actions" shows the rapid temporal and geographical development of art biennials since 1989, the first art biennial being held in Venice in 1895. Today there are over 90 biennials and art fairs spread all over the world. In a short time they have become the most visible platforms for contemporary art and its public discourse.
For the panoramic projection, a wealth of statistical data was graphically prepared, such as the development of market values, locations and frequency of biennials, or the travel routes of artists and curators.
The data was processed using software that brings the dry statistical facts to life. Through this software and its application in the PanoramaScreen, it was possible to give the viewer a picture of the dense and vital network that these newly established art worlds span around the globe.
