The sculpture, reassembled from many fragments and heavily restored, depicts an old woman tightly holding onto a wine vase. The work appears on the list of Hellenistic representations of personages devoted to vices and represented in their degraded level of daily life. THe rendering of the veins and wrinkling of the skin is very realistic, with particular attention to the drapery, suggesting that this is a copy of a work executer in the third century BC at Smyrna by a Myron known for his anus ebria
