Statue of an Italian footballer giving a fascist salute

Scotland faced Italy for the first time on May 20 1931 at the Stadio Nazionale in Rome. This statue, of a player giving a fascist salute, was presented by the Italian FA to mark the occasion. The Italian Fascist Party seized power in a coup d'etat in 1922.
