This bronze statue depicts Charles James Fox seated in Classical clothing. It was created in 1816 by Sir Richard Westmacott. Fox was Britain's first Foreign Secretary of State. He was a radical politician who opposed King George III, supported the French Revolution and who campaigned for the abolition of the slave trade.
