Statues Create A Constitutional Plaza

Coline Jenkins, Debra Kolsrud

Installing the Stanton and Anthony statue here creates a "Constitutional Plaza" representing the 13, 14, 15 and now 19th Amendments to the U.S. Constitution. Statues across the street at the New-York Historical Society depict President Abraham Lincoln and abolitionist Frederick Douglass, while nearby a statue of President Theodore Roosevelt astride a horse sits in front of the American Museum of Natural History.
