Made in Germany, the Steam Locomotive 193, better known as “Jibóia” (nickname given for pulling very long compositions), was imported in 1937 by Companhia Paulista de Estradas de Ferro. Only three units of this model were manufactured and, being very powerful, it was used mainly for cargo transportation.
.
The machinery was powered by a steam engine that consists of three main parts: the boiler, which produces steam using fuel energy, the thermal machine, which transforms steam energy into mechanical work and the bodywork, which loads the construction. A tow wagon (also called a "tend") in a steam locomotive carries the fuel and water necessary for its support.
