The Steamer Santa Rosa leaving the Port of Los Angeles wharf in Santa Monica Bay. The Santa Rosa was probably owned by the Grace Line subsidiary called the New York & Pacific Steamship Co., operating under the British flag. The wharf was located near Santa Monica Canyon at the Pacific Ocean. Photograph inscribed (handwritten): "Steamer Santa Rosa Leaving Port Los Angeles, CAL. Tom Vandergrift."
