Steel helmet

The steel helmet was developed in 1915/16 at a time when trench warfare was becoming ever more widespread. The M18 steel helmet was used by the German Reichswehr and later the Wehrmacht armed forces until the end of the Second World War. In 1935, a new steel helmet was developed with an improved inner fitting.
