As well as painting pictures he designed costumes for operettas in Istanbul such as Lüküs Hayat, Deli Dolu and Saz Caz. He illustrated Nazım Hikmet's book Varan 3. In 1939 he painted Istanbul landscapes for the Turkish Pavilion at the New York World Exposition. These pictures included landscapes of Eyüp, Çamlıca, Moda, Üsküdar and other districts of the city. The same year he settled in France, where he remained for the rest of his life.
