The composition and style of this still life are very similar to those of other works signed and dated by Roepel between 1720 an 1726, where the fruit is displayed in the shape of a pyramid ona plinth or a stone slab in a niche. The precise and minute draughtsmanship, the elgant colouring with varied nuances, in which the cold tones predominate, and the light, which illuminates from the top left corner, are all characteristic of this artist. Fruits: pumpkin, quince, fig, cherry, plum, peach, wheat, spelt wheat and grape.
