This painting is the 10th in the inventory of the Cochennec collection by Fernand Daucho (1898–1982). Here, de Haan employs a richer and lighter-toned palette, using touches of yellow in both background and subject to considerably lighten the work. The deep green and orange are set off by the light-coloured wall. Gauguin’s influence is noticeable.
