Alexander Adriaenssen was the son of the composer Emanuel Adriaenssen. In 1610 he became a master in the painters' guild. He painted still lifes, mainly of fish and birds and occasionally of flowers, tinware, glass and pottery. In his paintings there are visible influences of Dutch masters art, such as Abraham Beijeren.
