From the Artist: This piece is an evolved version of what was initially a scribble. The first version of it came at the end of what was a very long, emotionally exhausting day for me. I was frustrated and upset, with no real motivation to sit down and plan out an actual piece of artwork. So I grabbed a Sharpie and made a really crude square of just textured black. To me, it looked like the background of some sort of void, so I found a red paint pen and added in a little figure. It didn't feel like any care for anatomy or detail was necessary, so I did not include any. It’s just a small person falling through something vast and overwhelming. My main experience with COVID-19 has been that feeling of isolation within a larger thing. There are a lot of things in the world right now that are huge and lonely and although I’m falling towards the end, it’s still a really exhausting fall.
