This bronze sculpture with a green patina depicts an allegorical setting of a man trying to break stones with an iron bar. He has the iron bar jammed in between the cracks of the stone and is using his entire body to try to break it free. He is wearing only a loincloth, probably to emphasize the worker's muscles. His right leg is on a higher section of the stone, with his right knee bent at 90 degrees. His right arm is above is left arm and his head is turned down and to the left. The man has shorter, curly hair. The iron bar he is using is probably just as tall as he is, if not taller. The stone itself forms the base.
