KO YOUNG-HOON(1952-) has painted the stones by hyper realistic manner from the middle of 1970's. Since the 1980's he has associated newspapers, books and stones with the canvas. That is he has started painting heterogeneous things together in one canvas.

In such canvas, as throwing shadow by spray the tension is maximized. After the late 1980's he has tried to represent still life in studio, and in the 1990's he has revealed mysterious and serious mood as inserting photographs in his works.

Here the stone is painted elaborately in acrylic color, and is laid on a bookcase on which English letters are written and which adhered to each other leaving some space regularly. In this painting the author brought up the matter of between simulation and reality.
