In the past, the lake filled with the deep blue waters of Ankgor Wat was the king's bathing place. There are two stone lions lined up on the shores of the lake. Akino, who said “I liked the unrefined back views of those lions,” used the lake as the background and made a large painting of the back views of the lions. The sight of the faint light returned by the pale red lotuses floating on the surface of the lake gives this painting a faint luster and depth, creating a fantastical space.
