Copies of the lost cherubs from the Dutch Garden that were sold off by the Crown Estate in 1953 were reinstated atop the piers that mark the garden’s western boundary in 2009. They were copied from the apparently unique 18th century originals by stone mason, Harry Brockway, who had earlier discovered them being reused as a sundial at the National Trust property, Polesden Lacy.
