Museum of Ontario Archaeology

Museum of Ontario Archaeology
London, Canada

Three of these stoneware bottles in near-perfect condition were found by ASI during their 2016 Stage Four excavation of the Squire site. Located near the intersection of Yonge and Gerrard Streets in Toronto, this site comprises three plots that include rear yard, outbuilding and privy features typical of urban lots. The bottles are salt-glazed and stamped with the letters S. & H. They would have held carbonated beverages like soda or beer.
