  • Notes: Patu phalanx formation. Looking along Onslow Rd towards Kowhai St and bin blockade, 23 Onslow Rd at far RHS. Patu group formed up phalanx-like, appearing to be well organized, well drilled and with a game plan. On several occasions (seemingly to a pre-arranged timetable) the Patu phalanx tore down Onslow Rd directly at the bin barricade and the Red Squad cordon. However they would come to an abrupt halt within a few feet of the Red Squad officers and eyeball them for perhaps 5 minutes. Then the Patu phalanx would spin 180 degrees while remaining in formation and trot back up Onslow Rd to their previous position, then spin 180 degrees and face back towards the bin barricade again. A very prepared and disciplined performance.
