This is a print showing two episodes from the famous Elokeshi case - a murder scandal of 19th century Kolkata revolving around an illicit affair of a temple priest and a housewife. In the panel on the left, Elokeshi is shown visiting the temple with her sisters where she meets the mahanta (priest). The location is made clear by the addition of the temple which resembles the actual Tarakeshwar temple in Bengal structurally and the lingam inside the sanctorum. In the second panel, Elokeshi's husband is seen raising the knife to cut off her head. The scenes are seperated by a heavily decorated pillar.
