Street Scene, Bombay

Baburao Sadwelkar (1928 - 2000) studied at the Sir J. J. School of Art. At the School of Art, he became deeply influenced by prominent European impressionist artists. This influence is visible in his works, which mostly consist of portraits and landscapes. This painting of a street scene depicts the Crawford Market area, the biggest market place in Mumbai.
