String quartet no. 3: p. 15

Boydell's third string quartet, op. 65, was written in 1969 for the RTÉ String Quartet, and received its first performance at the National Gallery on 20 September 1970. He valued the quartets highly, stating that they are 'the works I would save if everything else was lost'.
